The history of Gaziantep coppersmith goes back a long way. The property of Gaziantep copper processing is the uniform manufacturing. It is not combined through solder or any other way. In Gaziantep coppersmith, kitchen wares such as shallow frying pan, bowl, pannikin, cauldron; and wares for use such as ewer, tea-urn, vase, coffee pot, and tea-pot are manufactured.
Yemeni, which was used to worn by farmers in the past, is a flat heeled type of shoes which is produced of natural leather and cotton yarn. Base of Yemeni is made of either buffalo or cattle skin, its insole of sheep skin, and its sides of kid skin. It is usually produced in black and red colours. It has models such as kelik, küçük hasbe (small hasbe), büyük hasbe (big hasbe).
It is a very healthy shoes type since it does not cause any malodour, callus and skin rubbing in foot. Moreover, the clay between lower and upper base holds all the electricity of body and transmits it into soil and relieves the person.
Mother-of-pearl and mother-of-pearl craft, the raw material of which is cockleshell, various wires and walnut tree, have originated from the Middle-East countries and passed to Ottomans after the 15th century. Mother-of-pearl craft, having been enriched by various patterns through centuries, has been applied to wares of use and ornamentation of weapons.
It is a type of embroidery with special technique, which is peculiar to Gaziantep. It is processed through wrapping white fabric with yarn and pulling it, and decorating the fabric with white, yellow and cream coloured yarns, various ornaments and hemstitches. Antep embroidery has taken its name due to fact that it has been made firstly by the housewives in Antep and its surrounding. At the present time, admirable embroiders are made through the use of tinsel, coloured yarns and auxiliary embroidery needles without any change in processing technique.
Yarn of Antep rugs are made of hair of ox, camel and horse, sheep wool and goat hair. The rugs produced in Gaziantep are very different from the rugs of other regions in terms of loom, form, weaving type and embroidery.
With raw material of floss and cotton yarn, and having been waived completely in handlooms, kutnu cloth is an old fabric type special to only Gaziantep in Turkey. Traditional outfits, as well as, various accessories, touristic dresses, bags, slippers, curtain fabric are made of kutnu fabric.
Aba is a menswear which is made of a special fabric weaved from hair of ox, camel and horse, sheep wool and goat hair. Aba is named according to the colour, length of yarn and fabric that it was made of, and the region where it is worn.
The first thing that comes to mind as folk dance is “halay”. In halay dances in which men and women dance together, the theme of rejoice at the end of harvest season is depicted. With rich melodic structure, it is sometimes slow, and sometimes very rhythmic.  Dokuzlu, Oğuzlu, Çepikli-Çibikli, Kırıkhan, Ağırlama, Fatige Demune, Şirinnar, Mendilli, Leylim, Meryem, Mermere, Çobanbeyli, Nahsani, Barak Halay are the main folk dances.
In the city centre, performances and instruments of Turkish Classical Music which is an output of the city culture and living style are seen. Impacts of Barak Music are intensive in the Regions of İslahiye and Nurdağı, as well as in plateaus and highlands. Drum and clarion are used in open air festivities. On the other hand, mostly bağlama (an instrument with three double strings) is used in festivities in closed areas.
The clarion, the main brass folk instrument, is made of apricot tree. In Gaziantep, all Rough Clarion, Medium Rough Clarion and Cura Clarion types are manufactured.
